Electrical Design Engineer

The Company

An industry leading engineering company who design, manufacture and install special purpose machinery.

The Role

This is a position that will require a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to work closely with the Mechanical Design, Project and software teams to provide control panel layouts, schematic drawings with component and cable specification and support to our installation teams and clients. This is an office-based role but may require occasional travel to remote client or supply chain sites.

The work will include the following:

Generation of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel

Specification and sourcing of components, consumables and other hardware in conjunction with purchasing and software department to meet requirements and project cost targets

PLC/HMI selection in conjunction with the Software department

Working to the appropriate legislation/standards specific to the project. For example, BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000, etc.

Advise on technical matters arising from sales enquiries.

Provide technical support and advice on matters concerning product quality, test, inspection and application, including the review and provision of relevant documentation where required

The Candidate

To apply for this role, you must

1. Have time proven practical electrical wiring experience. Mechanical experience would also be beneficial.

2. Have previous electrical CAD experience specifically with Eplan Pro Panel (Eplan not essential).

3. Be Qualified to HNC/HND standard or above preferably in an electrical engineering related subject.

4. Be experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings and interpret data in written/numerical form on electrical systems.

5. Have knowledge of PLC hardware and software such as, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley & Siemens. (advantageous)
