Role: Land Rights/Consents Coordinator

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

Salary: Up to £40,000


About the job

A growing utilities infrastructure business is looking to appoint a Land Rights Coordinator to support the delivery of new IDNO electricity networks, ranging from EV infrastructure through to 132kV projects.


This is a key role focused on securing land rights and consents to enable projects to be energised, working closely with external contractors, landowners and internal delivery teams.


The Role

Reporting into the Land Rights Manager, you’ll take ownership of coordinating the land rights and consents process across multiple live utility projects.


You’ll manage ongoing land matters, liaise with external partners and ensure all necessary easements, wayleaves and planning consents are secured in a timely manner to keep projects on track.


This role suits someone with experience in land rights, utilities or property transactions who is highly organised, detail-oriented and confident dealing with multiple stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the acquisition of land and land rights, environmental and planning consents for utility projects
  • Identify requirements for easements, wayleaves and other land rights
  • Manage the negotiation of Heads of Terms and land rights documentation with landowners and third parties
  • Ensure land rights are secured in a timely manner to enable installation and operation of sites
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external IDNO/DNO partners to support project delivery
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Raise land enquiries and utilise Land Registry platforms to obtain accurate property information
  • Prepare regular reports and provide updates during weekly project meetings
  • Support the Asset Management team to ensure ongoing network compliance


Experience & Skills Required

  • Experience coordinating land rights and property transactions, ideally within utilities or the energy sector
  • Experience working within or alongside an in-house legal or infrastructure team desirable
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident escalating matters appropriately within a business
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple live matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office


Desirable

  • Experience working on EV infrastructure or electricity network projects
  • Familiarity with IDNO/DNO environments
  • Understanding of planning and environmental consents processes
