A well-established main contractor with a strong reputation in the London super prime residential market. The company delivers high-specification refurbishment and development projects for private clients, working closely with leading designers and architects. About the Role


Managing/Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will take full ownership of the commercial function, lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and an Estimator, and have the autonomy to shape how the department operates. There is a clear and defined progression path to Commercial Director.



Responsibilities


  • Full end-to-end commercial ownership across a portfolio of super prime residential projects (£2m–£10m+)
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a commercial team
  • Standardising and embedding commercial procedures and reporting across the business
  • Contract administration (JCT), valuations, variations, cost forecasting and final accounts
  • Pre-construction input including cost planning, tender analysis and subcontract procurement
  • Managing subcontractor relationships and negotiating specialist packages
  • Working closely with directors, Project Managers and Finance
  • Client-facing interaction with UHNW individuals and their professional teams




Qualifications


  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (RICS chartership preferred but not essential) or Relevant experience
  • Minimum 8 years' QS experience with a strong track record in London super prime residential
  • Expert-level JCT knowledge
  • Contractor-side experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a commercial team — a hands-on, supportive mentor
  • Passionate, collaborative and team-oriented — genuinely interested in helping others grow
  • The professionalism and discretion required when working with high-net-worth clients
  • MRICS preferred but not essential — experience and attitude matter more
