Team Leader – Clinical Operations
Remote, with regular fully expensed travel to Swansea and London
Salary circa £45,000, negotiable depending on experience
Benefits include pension and bonus
Higher salaries are considered for candidates with strong clinical operations team leadership and performance management experience

Overview
This is a team leadership role within Clinical Operations, focused on managing, developing, and expanding the Clinical Trial Assistant function across Swansea and London.
The primary responsibility is leading team performance, capability development, workflow management, and operational delivery across the CTA team.
This is an opportunity to build and lead a strong clinical support workforce, establish scalable processes, and help shape the operational structure within a growing global MedTech organisation.
This role would suit someone who
- Has circa 5+ years of clinical trials or clinical operations experience
- Has proven experience supervising, mentoring, or managing clinical trial support staff or clinical operations teams
- Has experience managing team performance, accountability, and development
- Is confident managing workload allocation and operational delivery across a team
- Thrives in fast-paced environments where processes and structures are still being established
- Is proactive, resilient, and comfortable taking ownership of team performance and development
- Has strong knowledge of GCP and regulated clinical trial environments
- Is based in the South of the UK and willing to travel regularly to Swansea and London

Your responsibilities will include
- Leading, supervising, and developing a team of Clinical Trial Assistants across Swansea and London
- Managing team performance, workload allocation, accountability, and capability development
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting individual and team development
- Establishing and refining processes, workflows, and operational standards
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of new CTAs
- Ensuring team compliance with GCP, ISO 14155, EU MDR, FDA regulations, and internal SOPs
- Providing leadership presence across both locations, including oversight of the London office
- Acting as a key operational link between Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and external stakeholders
- Driving operational improvement and strengthening clinical support capability
