Senior Investment & Finance Associate

Strand Hill is looking for a Senior Investment & Finance Associate

Job description

Investment & Finance Associate - Family Office

Sector: Real Estate & Alternative Credit

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 (depending on experience) + discretionary bonus

About the Company

A private, principal-led, investment office based in Central London, acting as the strategic and operational centre for a group of businesses across property and alternative lending. With a team of three full time employees, this is a small, entrepreneurial business.

The office functions as a centralised hub for finance, capital allocation, and decision-making, with direct oversight of multiple operating platforms. The group’s activities include UK and international lending platforms and a substantial property investment portfolio, spanning residential and commercial assets across multiple geographies.

You will work closely with the owner and Principal so the role offers rare exposure to real-time investment and credit decision-making. For the right individual, it provides accelerated responsibility, breadth of experience across asset classes, and close interaction with senior leadership in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting.

The Role

The Senior Investment & Finance Associate (or Manager) will support the Principals across lending, property, and broader investment activities.

The role offers broad exposure across underwriting, analysis, origination, execution, and ongoing portfolio oversight - with meaningful involvement in live decision-making. This is a hands-on position within a small team, requiring strong judgement, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models for lending and investment opportunities
  • Supporting underwriting, structuring, and risk analysis across credit and property assets
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and preparing internal reporting for senior decision-makers
  • Assisting with capital allocation decisions and ad-hoc strategic analysis
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including brokers, lenders, advisers, and counterparties
  • Supporting new initiatives and process improvements across the group’s operating businesses

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical ability with a proactive, commercially minded approach. You are likely to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience within a family office, private equity or investment manager is essential
  • Experience in credit, real estate or banking
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills
  • A self-starter mindset, with the ability to take projects from concept through to execution
  • Comfort working in a small, high-responsibility team environment
