Job Title: Construction Manager – Retail Commercial Fit-Out

We are an established and growing main contractor delivering high-quality retail and commercial fit-out projects across London and the surrounding areas. With a strong pipeline of secured work and repeat clients, we are looking to appoint an experienced Construction Manager who specialises in fast-paced retail fit-out schemes.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of retail and commercial fit-out projects across London. Many of our schemes are delivered within live trading environments and under tight programmes, requiring strong leadership, coordination, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities as a construction manager

• Managing day-to-day site operations on retail/commercial fit-out projects
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour
• Ensuring strict adherence to health & safety regulations
• Driving programmes to meet fast-track deadlines
• Maintaining quality control and resolving site issues proactively
• Liaising with clients, consultants, landlords, and senior management
• Managing site documentation, RAMS, and compliance
• Overseeing works in live retail environments with minimal disruption

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering retail commercial fit-out projects
• Strong understanding of fast-track programmes within London
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid qualifications (essential)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors
• Strong health & safety focus

Desirable

• Experience delivering projects for national retail brands
• Strong M&E coordination experience
• Experience working within shopping centres or high street retail environments
