Position: Senior Development Planner
Location: North East England
Salary: £60,000–£65,000 + company car/allowance + bonus
Work Pattern: 3 days per week in the office; travel to the South of England as required
Overview:
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Development Planner to join their multi-disciplinary team. You will lead planning strategy, prepare applications, secure permissions, and act as a key liaison with planning authorities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project planning strategies and advise on project design.
- Coordinate planning applications, environmental statements, and appeals.
- Engage with Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees, and communities.
- Provide planning support to operational sites and project teams.
- Monitor and respond to national and local planning consultations.
Requirements:
- Degree in Town & Country Planning (or related) + chartered RTPI/IEMA status.
- 5+ years’ experience in planning applications and liaising with local authorities, ideally in renewable energy.
- Knowledge of TCPA, S36, or DCO regimes; experience with Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Strong communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and comfortable with regular travel.
