Job description

We are working with a leading national law firm who are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join their Motor Insurance team within their Belfast office.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Defence Insurance practice, working within the firm’s Motor team to support insurance clients in defence insurance litigation matters. The candidate’s responsibilities will include pursuing completion of files in line with client instruction, liaising with parties involved in claims, interviewing witnesses, drafting statements, pleadings, and applications, and instructing counsel.

The candidate will play a key role in litigatory matters, attending and supporting a diverse range of insurance clients in trials, settlement conferences, mediations as required.

Essential Criteria

• NQ-5 PQE;
• Strong background in defence insurance litigation and litigation practices;
• Excellent commercial awareness;
• Outstanding academics;
• Technically excellent;
• Negotiation skills;
• Willingness to become involved in business development;
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
