Senior Design Manager – Kent (Project Based in Central London)

Kent-based | Travel to Central London Required | Commercial Project

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our growing team, supporting a major commercial development in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven design professional who is happy to be based in Kent while regularly travelling into Central London to oversee project delivery.

The Role

As Senior Design Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure seamless coordination, technical excellence, and programme adherence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the full design process on a high-value commercial scheme
• Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants
• Reviewing design information to ensure buildability, compliance, and cost efficiency
• Managing design programmes and resolving technical challenges
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
• Supporting pre-construction activities, including tender and procurement input

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has significant experience as a Senior Design Manager (or Design Manager ready to step up)
• Has delivered large-scale commercial projects in London or the South East
• Possesses strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction processes
• Is confident managing consultants and driving design coordination meetings
• Is commercially aware and programme-focused
• Is based in Kent (or willing to be) and able to travel regularly into Central London
