Programme Manager – IT Operating Model Transformation (12‑month FTC)


London | Hybrid (50% office) | Senior Manager Level


Are you a hands‑on Programme Manager with a passion for transforming how large IT organisations operate especially as they shift toward AI enabled ways of working? This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future state IT Operating Model for a major global firm, reporting directly into the Programme Lead.

With a technology estate of circa 500 people under the CIO, the scale, complexity, and visibility of this programme will give you a significant platform to make meaningful impact. This is a delivery focused role, perfect for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, structured environments and enjoys turning complex problems into clear execution pathways.


Responsibilities

  • Define the overall cloud migration strategy, roadmap, and success metrics.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, including CIO, CTO, Business Directors, and Product Owners.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of the cloud migration programme across multiple workstreams.
  • Align programme objectives with business goals, technology strategy, and security requirements..
  • Manage and track risks, issues, dependencies, and interdependencies across a multi‑workstream transformation.
  • Coordinate with onshore teams and external partners to ensure aligned, timely delivery.
  • Prepare high‑quality reporting packs, including executive updates and steering committee materials.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, workshops, and cross‑functional alignment meetings.
  • Champion continuous improvement, benefits tracking, and lessons learned across the programme lifecycle.


What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience managing complex IT programmes or large‑scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong planning and scheduling capability (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Experience working within structured PMO/governance environments.
  • Ability to work across multiple workstreams, navigating interdependencies with confidence.
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills, including senior leadership engagement.
  • Vendor/third‑party management experience.
  • Professional certifications (MSP, PRINCE2, PMP) beneficial.
