Job description
A UK-based food trading company is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead commercial development and operational coordination of frozen poultry, meat and processed meat products within the United Kingdom.
This role combines B2B commercial leadership with import coordination, regulatory compliance and branch-level operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Activities
Develop and manage B2B sales of frozen poultry, meat and processed meat products within the UK
Sell products in pallet quantities and full truckload volumes (FTL)
Identify and acquire new clients (wholesalers, distributors, foodservice / HoReCa sector)
Negotiate pricing, volumes and commercial terms
Maintain and develop long-term business relationships
Ensure achievement of sales targets and revenue growth
Analyse market data and trends to identify key sales opportunities and improve product margin performance
Develop proposals for sales and marketing strategy and support brand development
Expand the Company’s brand presence within the UK frozen poultry and meat market
Import & Documentation
Coordinate preparation of import documentation for meat and processed products entering the UK
Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics partners, financial institutions and banks
Ensure accuracy of customs declarations and supporting documentation
Cooperate with port authorities and regulatory bodies
Monitor changes in UK import regulations
Prepare, negotiate and conclude sales contracts for Company products
Logistics & Operational Coordination
Oversee branch-level operational activities to ensure delivery of planned sales volumes
Provide end-to-end coordination of sales execution
Liaise with cold storage warehouse facilities
Plan shipments in line with stock levels and delivery schedules
Support customs clearance processes through third-party providers
Ensure compliance with UK traceability and food safety requirements
Reporting
Monitor sales margins and profitability
Prepare sales volume forecasts
Provide operational and commercial feedback to Company management regarding branch performance and product sales targets
Prepare and submit reports to relevant UK authorities in accordance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements for businesses operating within this market segment
Mandatory Requirements
UK resident with full right to work
Proven experience managing commercial operations in a B2B food trading environment
Strong knowledge of UK legislation governing the sale of meat products
Demonstrated experience in market analysis and development of sales strategy
Strong knowledge of contract preparation, negotiation and execution
Proven experience in sales of frozen food products within the UK
Experience in poultry, meat or processed meat products preferred
Experience handling import documentation for food products
Knowledge of UK customs procedures
Experience selling pallet and full truckload (FTL) volumes
Established network within UK wholesalers or distributors
Strong negotiation and communication skills
