Technical Design Lead- (Façades / Remediation) — BSR & Gateway Focus

Location: Leicester

Sector: Building Envelope / Façade Remediation & Recladding

A well-established building envelope contractor delivering façade remediation and recladding schemes (including high-rise residential projects over 18m requiring Gateway approval) is looking to appoint a senior Technical Design Lead to take ownership of Building Safety Regulator (BSR) submissions and the full Gateway process.

This is a compliance-led technical role. It’s ideal for a senior façade professional who understands systems and remediation, but prefers governance, coordination and regulatory submission leadership over day-to-day CAD production.

The Role:

You’ll lead the technical compliance workflow across live remediation projects, ensuring documentation is accurate, structured and aligned with the Building Safety Act and HRB requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and coordinating Gateway 2 submissions to the BSR
• Managing and responding to BSR RFIs and regulatory queries
• Compiling technical information into clear, compliant submission packs
• Coordinating consultants, façade designers and internal teams to validate accuracy
• Ensuring alignment with Building Regulations, HRB requirements, and the Building Safety Act
• Supporting internal stakeholders with compliance strategy and process improvement across the business

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll likely come from a façade/cladding technical background, with strong exposure to HRB compliance and submission work.

Essential

• Strong understanding of HRB projects (18m+)
• Proven experience with Gateway submissions and/or Building Control processes
• Background in façades, cladding, EWI, recladding or remediation
• Experience compiling technical compliance packs and structured documentation
• Strong written, organisational and stakeholder management skills
• Confidence liaising with regulators, consultants and client-side stakeholders

Desirable

• Technical qualification in Architecture, Building Technology, Façade Engineering (or similar)
• Experience supporting multiple projects and building internal compliance frameworks
