Job Title: Senior Associate – Projects, Development & Construction
Location: London (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £70,000 - £120,000, D.O.E + Excellent Benefits (DOE)
PQE: 6+ Years
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Projects, Development & Construction team at a leading international law firm in London. This role is ideal for an experienced construction lawyer with strong non-contentious expertise, looking to work on high-value, complex development and infrastructure projects across a range of sectors.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and growing team with an outstanding reputation for advising developers, investors, contractors, funders, and public sector bodies on major UK and international projects.
The Role:
You will play a key role advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction and development matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating construction and development agreements
- Advising on procurement strategies and project structuring
- Supporting major regeneration, infrastructure, and development schemes
- Advising on standard form and bespoke construction contracts, including:
- JCT
- NEC
- FIDIC
- EPC and EPCM contracts
- Advising on joint ventures, development agreements, and investor arrangements
- Providing risk analysis and strategic advice on live projects
- Supporting clients across sectors including real estate, housing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and commercial development
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and supporting team development
- Contributing to business development and client relationship management
- This is primarily a non-contentious role, with a focus on supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of major construction and development projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- UK-qualified solicitor with 6+ years PQE in construction law
- Strong experience in non-contentious construction matters
- Excellent working knowledge of standard form construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC)
- Experience advising developers, investors, contractors, or funders
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and technical legal skills
- Experience managing matters independently and supervising junior team members
- Commercial awareness and strong client relationship skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload
- A collaborative mindset and interest in long-term career progression
- Experience in development, housing, accommodation, or infrastructure projects is particularly desirable.
