Help Shape the Future of Animal Welfare in the South-West

Bath Cats & Dogs Home (RSPCA Bath & District Branch) is the region’s largest animal welfare charity, transforming the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs every year. From urgent rescues to expert rehabilitation and rehoming, the team works tirelessly to ensure every animal receives the compassion, care and second chance they deserve. The charity also supports vulnerable pet owners, helping prevent neglect before it begins.

As part of the wider RSPCA network, the organisation plays a critical role in some of the most challenging and meaningful animal welfare work in the UK.

The Opportunity

As Chair, you will:

  • Champion a positive, collaborative Board culture
  • Lead on strategy, long-term planning and organisational impact
  • Ensure strong governance, risk oversight and legal compliance
  • Support and develop trustees to bring their best skills and insights
  • Foster a strong relationship with the CEO, offering support and challenge

You will bring:

  • Experience as a Chair or Trustee within the charity or non-profit sector
  • Insight into charity fundraising, finance or operations
  • A clear understanding of trustee responsibilities
  • Excellent people skills — diplomatic, articulate and solutions‑focused
