ABOUT VCCP HEALTH

VCCP Health is a specialist agency that was set up to bring greater strategic rigour and raise creative standards in healthcare communications. Our aim is to bring the VCCP Challenger Spirit to the healthcare sector, not settling to do things as they’ve always been done, but rather look at how things could be done differently.


The agency works on prescription, medical devices, OTC & wellness brands, developing the full range of materials required for communications aimed at healthcare professional and consumer audiences. Wherever possible, we bring the most innovative approaches and thinking from the consumer agency to the world of healthcare.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Midweight Project Manager to support the delivery of integrated creative projects across the agency.


This is a hybrid role, combining strong project management fundamentals with elements of creative production. You will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and day-to-day delivery, while supporting creative development and coordinating internal teams and external production partners.


You will work closely with Account Management, Creative, Medical Writing, and third-party partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing creative ambition with practical constraints.


To fulfil this role you need to have proven project management experience, with experience across production (print, digital and film) within a fast paced agency. You need passion and pride for delivering the best possible creative solutions, whilst diplomatically balancing the practical constraints we are often challenged with.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Defining the overall project approach, communicating and managing throughout the process so everyone is on the same page and clear on what is expected of them (and by when)
  • Plan ahead and book in internal reviews and briefings. Follow up after meetings with next steps and deadlines so everyone is clear on what they need to do and by when
  • Flagging when projects change, quickly and clearly, guaranteeing you are always understood by all project participants
  • You understand the people you work with and how to communicate with each to get the best out of them, and ultimately, the project
  • Develop strong relationships with our internal partners and 3rd party production suppliers (e.g. Film production agencies, Digital production agencies, Animation studios etc).


RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:

  • You work closely with the Resource Manager to ensure the creative and medical writing teams are resourced correctly to ensure the smooth running of all of your projects on time
  • You manage internal and external production teams throughout the project ensuring the partnership teams (the studio, content, TV and digital) or external suppliers are brought in at the correct stages and up to date throughout the project


MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS:

  • Defining the overall project approach and have ownership proactively driving them through the agency delivering on time, budget, spec
  • Ensure the agency process is followed and that we are being efficient in our approach
  • Create and own creative and production timelines, evolving as the project does.
  • Work with the Project Director and Account team to scope projects and structure appropriate resource in a timely fashion.
  • You report on progress, risk and issues to the Project Director and Account team and work with them to mitigate risks
  • You consistently strive to achieve completion of projects on time, within budget and to specification.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs, Calendar, Gmail) and Smartsheets


BUDGET CONTROL / FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

  • You are responsible for ensuring all production projects are accurately scoped and give advice where necessary, using your knowledge of production
  • You provide guidance to the teams on feasibility of creative concepts to budgets and liaise with production partners to validate production estimates
  • You hold responsibility for production budgets, updating the account team throughout the project progress and always fully reconciling all projects in a timely manner
