Associate Solicitor EL/PL

Job description

We are currently working with a leading global law firm that is looking to appoint an Associate into its Healthcare EL/PL team based in Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior Associate (1-3 years PQE) who wants to build a long-term career within healthcare-related liability work, acting on behalf of high-profile NHS and healthcare clients.

You’ll be joining a highly regarded team that advises and defends NHS bodies, trusts and medical insurers on a wide range of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims. The work is varied and high quality, spanning fast-track through to multi-track matters, and offers exposure to complex, sensitive and often high-value cases.

You’ll be working closely with experienced Partners and Associates within a supportive, collaborative environment. The firm has a strong national and international presence, meaning you’ll benefit from both local team support and wider firm resources.

Ideal candidate:

• 1–3 years’ PQE (guideline only – strong candidates outside this range are encouraged)
• Solid EL/PL litigation experience
• Good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
• Experience managing your own caseload
