Job description
Interim Construction Disputes Lawyer (3 - 8PQE)
6-month Contract
A well-regarded UK law firm is seeking an interim construction disputes lawyer to support a busy and growing disputes practice for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
The role will involve advising on a wide range of contentious construction and engineering matters, including disputes arising out of major projects, complex portfolios and live developments. The team acts across sectors such as energy and utilities (including renewables), the built environment, and infrastructure, with work spanning both UK and international elements.
The successful interim will advise a mix of developers, investors, contractors and other project stakeholders, providing practical, commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of projects — from construction through to completion, defects and operational phases. The role will also involve matters relating to building and project safety, including fire safety, structural issues, defects, and wider risk management considerations.
Candidate profile:
- Qualified solicitor with c.3 - 8PQE in contentious construction
- Strong experience handling disputes and risk issues, ideally across multiple asset classes
- Building safety / fire safety / structural safety experience highly desirable
- Comfortable managing matters with a good degree of autonomy, with appropriate supervision
- Experience supervising or working closely with junior lawyers during active matters
- Able to integrate quickly into a collaborative, cross-office team environment
