Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Assistant Buyer, based in Stoneleigh, with flexibility for occasional remote work. The Assistant Buyer will support category management by collaborating with suppliers, analyzing product trends, assisting with range planning, and ensuring stock availability. Responsibilities include managing purchase orders, maintaining accurate product data, negotiating with vendors, and conducting market research to identify new opportunities. The role also involves liaising with internal teams, ensuring product quality standards are met, and contributing to the success of on-time deliveries and sales targets.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in purchasing and vendor negotiation, inventory management, and category planning
  • Strong data analysis, demand forecasting, and market research skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, with experience managing purchase orders
  • Experience in customer service and cross-functional collaboration with various teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with ERP or inventory systems
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative hybrid environment
  • Knowledge of home and garden retail products or related industries is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
