Finance Associate (2 PQE +)

London (Hybrid)


An international law firm with a strong and growing Finance practice is looking to hire a Debt Finance Associate (2PQE + ) to join its London team.


This role would suit an associate looking to deepen their technical expertise, gain high-quality transactional exposure and work closely with partners on complex finance matters in a supportive, collaborative environment.


The Team


The Debt Finance team sits within a broader Finance practice and advises on a wide range of transactional debt financings, including:

  • Real estate finance (lender and borrower side)
  • Acquisition and leveraged finance
  • Private credit and asset-based lending
  • Secured and unsecured corporate lending
  • Non-contentious restructurings and distressed situations


The team acts for UK and international banks, debt funds, investment companies, corporate borrowers and trustees, often on transactions involving novel structures or instruments.


The Role


You will support partners and senior associates on a range of complex finance transactions, with increasing responsibility as you progress. Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing finance documentation
  • Assisting with transaction management and coordinating with clients and other advisers
  • Running discrete workstreams with appropriate supervision
  • Supervising trainees and junior team members where required
  • Conducting legal research and contributing to know-how and precedents
  • Supporting business development initiatives, pitches and client presentations


The firm operates a hybrid working model and is open to discussing flexible working arrangements.


About You

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer (2 PQE+ )
  • Experience in general lending gained in a reputable UK private practice
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Commercial, organised and able to manage competing deadlines
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Interest in building client relationships and developing a long-term finance practice
