The Role


As a Group Litigation Costs Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in managing costs across large-scale, multi-party litigation, often involving complex funding arrangements and novel costs issues. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to some of the most sophisticated costs work in the UK claimant space.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Managing all aspects of costs in large group and collective actions
  • Drafting and negotiating budgets, bills of costs, and costs schedules
  • Advising on costs strategy throughout the lifecycle of complex litigation
  • Working closely with solicitors, counsel, funders, and external costs professionals
  • Handling detailed assessments, negotiations, and costs disputes
  • Advising on funding structures, CFAs, DBAs, ATE insurance, and adverse costs risk
  • Contributing to the development of internal best practice and costs strategy


About You


  • Qualified Costs Lawyer (or equivalent substantial costs experience)
  • Strong background in claimant litigation costs, ideally within complex or group actions
  • Proven experience dealing with high-value and multi-party matters
  • Excellent technical knowledge of the CPR and costs law
  • Commercially astute with the confidence to advise at a strategic level
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
