Senior Knitwear Garment Technologist

Location: Bond Street

Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Pay: £23-28 per hour


ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Knitwear Garment Technologist is responsible for ensuring that brand standards are achieved and maintained throughout the entire knitwear collection. The role focuses on quality, technical accuracy, fit, and construction throughout all stages—from prototype through to bulk production. You will manage fit sessions, communicate technical details to suppliers, ensure consistency across product ranges, and support the business in achieving high-quality garments that meet commercial and critical path requirements.

Strong organisation, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and clear communication skills are essential.


Key Responsibilities

Fit & Technical Management

  • Lead fit sessions and approve samples from prototype to bulk.
  • Maintain consistent fit and construction quality across the range.
  • Produce clear technical specifications and communicate with suppliers.
  • Oversee grading accuracy and manage the sealing process against deadlines.

Quality Assurance

  • Manage test reports and ensure garments meet required standards.
  • Identify technical risks early and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Review and update measurement standards in line with customer feedback.

Critical Path & Sample Management

  • Track progress, manage sample timelines, and ensure key dates are met.
  • Highlight risks or delays to the Menswear Technical Manager.

Customer Returns & QC Improvement

  • Analyse returns to identify trends and drive fit improvements.
  • Support quality decisions and ensure suppliers resolve issues effectively.

Supplier Management

  • Maintain consistent production methods across supply base.
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure capability for high‑quality product.


Experience & Skills Required

  • Strong background as a Garment Technologist within menswear, with essential knitwear expertise.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, grading, blocks, and production methods.
  • Confident leading fit sessions and managing products from development to bulk.
  • Experience working with offshore suppliers and resolving technical/quality issues.
  • Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to work to tight deadlines with clear communication skills.
