Project Manager - Construction / Site-Led (Workplace Design & Build)

Grõ Careers is looking for a Project Manager - Construction / Site-Led (Workplace Design & Build)

Job description

Central London | Predominantly site-based on live Central London projects

This role isn’t for someone who wants to manage construction from behind a screen.

It’s for someone who likes being on site, close to the build, close to the people, and close to the decisions that keep projects moving.

You will be working on fast-paced workplace fit-out projects in Central London, embedded within a delivery team where momentum, quality and problem-solving matter more than rigid process.

If you get energy from live sites, enjoy overcoming challenges in real time and take pride in seeing spaces come together properly… this could be a great fit.

What the day-to-day really looks like…

Your working week will largely be spent on site, not in an office managing emails.

You will be…

  • Acting as a visible management presence on live construction sites
  • Working closely with site teams, trades, and senior delivery staff
  • Spotting issues early and solving them practically
  • Coordinating people, information, and activity to keep projects on track
  • Making sensible decisions when things don’t go exactly to plan (because they rarely do)

Projects are typically Central London workplace schemes with relatively tight programmes, so pace and clarity of communication are key here.

Who this role tends to suit…

There isn’t one “correct” background for this role… and that’s very deliberate.

Previous successful hires in this team have come from a range of backgrounds, including:

  • Project Management
  • Construction / Site Management
  • Design & Architecture
  • Carpentry and trade-based backgrounds
  • Engineering

What they all have in common is not their CV … it’s how they work.

This role will suit someone who…

  • Has solid experience in construction, project management / delivery
  • Enjoys being hands-on and site-based
  • Is a natural problem solver
  • Communicates clearly with people at all levels
  • Is organised, computer-literate, and comfortable handling live information
  • Has a genuine passion for construction and building spaces

Formal job titles matter far less than attitude, judgement, and how you show up on site.

Culture & progression…

You will be joining an energetic delivery team with a strong social culture and a very practical, people-first way of working.

New starters are typically paired with an experienced construction manager initially, giving you the support and context needed to settle in and understand how projects are delivered.

There is clear scope to develop into a more senior Management role over time but only if that’s something you want… progression here is earned through delivery, not hierarchy.

Why people enjoy this environment…

  • You’re trusted to make decisions
  • You’re close to the action, not removed from it
  • You work with people who care about delivery and team dynamics
  • You see the direct impact of your work, week by week

Interested?

If you’re someone who loves construction, enjoys being on site, and wants a role where problem-solving and people skills really matter, we would like to book in a call following the submission of your application (CV).
