Edenbrook are working with a leading Lloyd’s syndicate seeking a Senior Property Underwriter to join a profitable North American portfolio. This opportunity is offering underwriting autonomy, market visibility, and influence over portfolio direction.

- Write and lead a meaningful North American Property book
- Shape underwriting philosophy alongside the Head of Property and Active Underwriter
- Operate as both a lead market and a disciplined follower behind top Lloyd’s leaders
- Strong broker relationships, clear strategy, and support from experienced leadership
- Exposure to portfolio strategy, reinsurance discussions, and capital deployment
- Underwriting and pricing new and renewal Property risks within agreed authority
- Making independent decisions on complex risks, structures, and exposures
- Negotiating terms and pricing with senior brokers and clients across London and North America
- Managing portfolio performance, trends, and remediation
- Collaborating closely with claims, actuarial, pricing, and catastrophe modelling teams
- Mentoring junior underwriters and contributing to product and wording development
What we’re looking for
- 7–10+ years’ Property underwriting experience in the Lloyd’s market
- Proven North American Open Market experience
- Strong technical grounding with commercial edge
- Confident broker negotiator and relationship builder
- Someone who enjoys owning a book and shaping outcomes
