Legal Counsel

Job description

Simmons & Hanbury are exclusively mandated on a search for a Legal Counsel for a highly successful hedge fund. The role will work alongside a small team of great lawyers, who all worked at leading law firms before making the move in-house. They are open to candidates from a variety of practice areas including Corporate, Banking & Finance, Derivatives and Capital Markets for what will be a generalist in-house position.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, predominantly in relation to the firms trading activities.
• Providing legal advice on matters relating to corporate governance.
• Supporting on new initiatives as the firm continues to grow.
• Keeping track of potential regulatory changes that may affect the firm.

Experience requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK with 0-2 years of post-qualification experience.
• Have trained and qualified with a leading law firm, within a transactional practice area.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
