- Submitting outcomes and certificates via CCMS and CWA.
- Liaising with solicitors, counsel, and costs officers to negotiate settlements.
- Managing inter partes costs claims, POA submissions, disbursements, and counsel’s fees.
- Ensuring compliance with LAA, CPR, and court requirements.
- Collaborating with fee earners and external stakeholders to resolve billing queries.
- Maintaining accurate records, financial reconciliations, and file management.
About you:
- Proven experience as a Costs Draftsperson, with solid knowledge of Legal Aid billing (CCMS, CWA).
- Strong understanding of Claim1, Claim1A, Claim2, ECF, and detailed bills of costs.
- Experience in inter partes negotiations and public law claims (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management/billing software.
- A proactive communicator with a problem-solving approach.
This is an opportunity to join a practice that not only values technical expertise but also places compassion and trauma-informed care at the centre of its legal services.
