Assistant Manager – Leather Goods

An iconic French luxury Maison, globally recognised for its uncompromising craftsmanship, heritage, and timeless approach to leather goods, is opening a new flagship boutique on Bond Street. Rooted in artisanal excellence and understated elegance, the brand represents discretion, quality, and emotional connection over overt display. Every piece reflects generations of savoir-faire and a deep respect for craftsmanship, materials, and long-term client relationships.
They are seeking a refined and emotionally intelligent Assistant Manager – Leather Goods to support the leadership of this prestigious new opening.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will partner closely with the Store Director to ensure the leather goods department operates to the highest standards of luxury service, operational excellence, and commercial performance. You will lead by example on the shop floor, embodying quiet confidence and calm authority while cultivating meaningful relationships with a discerning international clientele.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Store Director in daily boutique operations
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing leather goods team
- Delivering exceptional, personalised client experiences
- Managing and nurturing VIC and HNW client relationships
- Driving commercial performance and category growth
- Acting as a role model for brand values, service and behavioural standards
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and team development
About You:
- Experience in luxury retail leadership, ideally within leather goods or accessories
- Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
- High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal awareness
- Grounded, calm and composed under pressure
- Well spoken, articulate and confident with international clientele
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- A natural relationship builder with a discreet and service-led approach
