Job description
We have been instructed on a newly qualified opportunity within a well-established dispute resolution team, focused exclusively on property litigation. This is a genuinely hands-on role offering close, day-to-day training from a senior property litigator with a long-standing reputation in this area.
This is not a role where you are left to “figure it out” - you will be properly trained, supported, and given real responsibility from the outset.
The Role
You will work on a varied and high-quality caseload of property disputes, including:
- Landlord and tenant disputes (residential and commercial)
- Vendor and purchaser disputes
- Boundary disputes
- Nuisance claims
- Easements
- Adverse possession
The work is broad, interesting, and more varied than what many candidates would see in larger Birmingham or London practices, with strong exposure to rural and commercial property disputes.
The department has a very strong pipeline of work, including long-standing panel appointments and internal referrals from the firm’s property teams. There is clear long-term opportunity here - the successful hire will be well-placed to carve out this practice as their own over time.
The Ideal Candidate
- Newly qualified (or imminently qualifying) solicitor
- Background in property (property litigation experience not required)
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in property litigation
- Enthusiastic, curious, and keen to learn
Motivation and interest in the area matter more than prior PL experience - full training will be provided.
Additional Information
- Supportive and approachable department head - ex-City partner from a major law firm
- Strong mentoring and development
- Free onsite parking
- Long-term progression opportunity for the right person
- Hybrid working arrangement.
Salary is competitive for the regional market and will depend on experience.
