Project Manager – Manufacturing & Facilities (UAV / Defence)

Length: this is a 12 month FTC with the ability to potentially go permanent

Location: Cambridge – On Site

Rate: £70-90k pro-rata (Depending on experience)

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the set-up of new manufacturing facilities and production environments supporting advanced drone and UAV programmes. This is a hands-on delivery role within a fast-paced aerospace and defence business, working closely with engineering, operations and senior leadership to bring new production capability online.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver end-to-end manufacturing facility and production line set-ups from concept to operational readiness.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality and facilities.
• Manage project plans, budgets, risks and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Oversee factory layouts, equipment installation, commissioning and production ramp-up.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and infrastructure partners.

Essential Experience:

• 8+ years Project management experience within aerospace, defence or advanced manufacturing facilities set up.
• Proven delivery of new manufacturing facilities or greenfield production environments.
• Strong understanding of production processes and operational scale-up.
• Ability to work on-site in Cambridge.
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Desirable:

• UAV, robotics or aerospace manufacturing programmes.
• AS9100 / regulated engineering environments.
• APM, PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
• Experience in start-up or high-growth technology businesses.
