Commercial Manager

The IBA Buying Group Ltd is looking for a Commercial Manager

Job description

Company Description

The IBA Buying Group Ltd exists to strengthen the independence, competitiveness and long-term success of its Members. We are owned by our Members and guided by values of trust, transparency, collaboration and ethical supplier partnerships.

We are seeking a commercially driven and experienced individual to strengthen and lead our supplier and Member commercial performance.

This is a high-impact role focused on delivering measurable financial value across our independent wholesale Membership while upholding the culture, integrity and community ethos that define The IBA. The successful candidate will lead supplier negotiations, enhance rebate quality, and drive stronger alignment with preferred suppliers in a way that benefits Members collectively and sustainably.

The Role

  • Lead negotiations with Group Suppliers, ensuring outcomes are commercially strong, fair and sustainable
  • Secure improved rebate structures and permanent line-level pricing improvements
  • Strengthen supplier relationships built on transparency, trust and long-term partnership
  • Drive increased member spend through preferred suppliers while protecting member independence and choice
  • Support development of structured group deals that deliver genuine value to Members
  • Work directly with Members to improve commercial performance and share best practice
  • Contribute to rebate modelling and commercial forecasting to support informed decision-making

You will be responsible for delivering tangible financial outcomes while reinforcing the collaborative and ethical framework that underpins The IBA.

About You

  • Background in independent electrical wholesale desirable
  • Experience in Electrical Wholesale branch management, buying, category management, or commercial leadership
  • Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing margin performance
  • Commercially confident, numerate and analytically strong
  • Strong negotiator who builds relationships based on integrity and mutual respect
  • Comfortable operating autonomously while working collaboratively with Members and suppliers
  • Aligned with values of transparency, fairness and member-first thinking
  • Focused on outcomes rather than activity

What Success Looks Like

  • Growth in group rebate value
  • Improved preferred supplier alignment
  • Permanent cost improvements for Members
  • Strong, trusted supplier partnerships
  • Clear, measurable commercial value delivered to Members
  • Enhanced confidence from Members that IBA protects and strengthens their independence

This is an opportunity to play a central role in strengthening the commercial position of a respected independent buying group at a time of strategic development — helping independent wholesalers compete, thrive and remain truly independent.
