As the firm’s embedded hiring partner, we are supporting an established accountancy practice in Glossop appointing a qualified accountant to sit between Accounts Senior and Business Services Manager level.

This is a key position within the team.

You will manage your own client portfolio while supporting junior staff and working closely with senior leadership. The role suits someone technically strong, commercially aware and motivated to progress.

The firm operates a structured 4 day working week model. This is not compressed hours. It is embedded into how the practice runs. Expectations remain high, but the focus is on productivity and delivery rather than long-hour culture.

Hybrid working is available following onboarding and integration into the team.

The Role

You will:

• Manage a portfolio of small and medium-sized clients

• Provide ongoing commercial and tax advice

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

• Prepare self-assessment and corporation tax returns

• Support and mentor junior team members

• Contribute to the wider development of the practice

This is a visible role within the firm. You will not be siloed in compliance.

The Profile

You will:

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or very near completion

• Have at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience within accountancy practice

• Be confident managing your own client base

• Be comfortable supporting junior colleagues

• Be highly competent with Microsoft Excel

Experience with TaxCalc is advantageous. Exposure to IRIS, SAGE, Xero, FreeAgent or Dext would also be beneficial.

Payroll knowledge and experience providing higher-level tax advice would be welcomed but are not essential.
