Job Title: Senior Application Specialist (Senior Laravel / PHP Lead)

Location: Hybrid in London (2-3 days per week)

Employment Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Senior Application Specialist to take technical ownership of a major rebuild of a globally used contract management / CRM platform.


This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you will lead development activity across a distributed team (US / UK / Europe), working closely with Product, UX/UI and QA to deliver a scalable, secure and high-performing application.


You will play a key role in rebuilding and modernising an in-house platform used by international commercial teams, ensuring clean architecture, strong engineering standards and reliable production releases.


Senior Application Specialist – Key Responsibilities


  • Lead full-stack development across the application lifecycle
  • Own technical design, documentation and implementation
  • Work closely with Product and Business Analysis on functional/technical specs
  • Drive sprint planning, estimations and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with UX/UI to implement designs accurately
  • Maintain high standards through TDD and automated testing
  • Manage bug backlogs and production releases
  • Contribute to cross-platform initiatives and code reviews


Senior Application Specialist – Key Skills Required

  • Strong full-stack development background within LAMP environments
  • 5+ years PHP experience (Laravel strongly preferred)
  • Strong JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills
  • Experience building scalable, secure and highly available systems
  • REST and SOAP API integration experience
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) and PHPUnit
  • Docker experience
  • Git version control (GitHub preferred)
  • Experience working in Agile / Kanban teams
  • Strong Jira experience


This role requires collaboration with US-based stakeholders, so flexibility around time zones is important.
