Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead – Residential

Site Based - London

I’m currently working with a Housing Association to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead working on mixed-tenure RC Frame projects in London.

This is a key commercial role within a growing delivery team. Following several recently secured projects, my client is expanding their commercial function to support the successful delivery of new residential schemes.

The role reports directly to the Managing Surveyor and works closely with Operations, Commercial, and Design & Technical teams, all based on site to ensure coordinated project delivery.

The role will involve:

• Taking full commercial responsibility for allocated residential schemes
• Cost reporting, cash flow forecasting and financial control
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Subcontract administration through to final account
• Robust change control and contractual administration
• Managing and mentoring site-based commercial team members
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Proactive identification and management of commercial risk
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and internal procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead
• Strong background in RC Frame, mixed-tenure residential projects
• Degree or HNC in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
• CSCS card (essential)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing ability
• Ability to prioritise, coordinate and manage multiple deadlines
• MRICS desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
