Job description

We are supporting a well-established financial services organisation seeking an experienced Data Warehouse & SQL Developer to join their IT team on a long term contract basis.


This is a hands-on delivery role focused on SQL Server, SSIS and enterprise data warehousing. You will play a key part in supporting reporting, analytics and business-critical data applications.


The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS
  • Building and optimising data warehouse and data mart solutions
  • Developing SQL Server databases including tables, views, stored procedures and functions
  • Writing and tuning complex T-SQL queries
  • Ensuring data integrity, performance and reliability
  • Supporting deployments and ongoing enhancements
  • Working closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions


Required Experience

  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts including star schema, fact and dimension modelling, and slowly changing dimensions
  • Strong T-SQL skills including performance tuning and optimisation
  • Experience handling large datasets and complex transformations
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps


Desirable

  • Experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools
  • Exposure to Azure Data Services
  • Experience within financial services or other regulated environments
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams
