Legal Counsel - (Health & Safety, Environment & Property)

UK | Birmingham, Bristol, London or Manchester (hybrid)

About the role:

We are hiring a Legal Counsel role in the Property, Infrastructure & Environment Legal Team, reporting to the Senior Lawyer. Core focus is health & safety and environmental law, with property exposure as part of the wider remit. Strong preference for candidates with H&S claims experience (litigated and non-litigated) and environmental incident management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental advice (waste, product stewardship, ISO 14001, energy and conservation).
  • Advise on H&S compliance, investigations, risk assessments and internal policy.
  • Support crisis management on H&S/environment incidents.
  • Manage matters with external counsel within budget and ensure governance compliance.
  • Horizon scan regulatory changes and brief senior stakeholders.


About You

  • 2+ PQE
  • Litigation background.
  • Qualified solicitor with broad H&S claims and environmental experience (litigation background preferred but not essential).
  • Strong drafting, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness.
  • In-house and/or telecoms/infrastructure experience preferred but not mandatory.
