Role Description

We’re looking for an Event Manager who will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a growing portfolio of outdoor events for a period of 13 months. The majority of the events will be long distance treks and short walks for a variety of different clients that already exist in our portfolio, as well as leading on the operations of some new and upcoming events.


The Event Manager will ensure all events are executed professionally, on time, within budget and to client expectations. During the event day, you will manage a team of Operations Staff and volunteers.

• The role will be hybrid, in-person days in London once every 2 weeks, with option for more.

• The role will involve travel across the UK, visiting venues and hiking various distances.

• The role will include extended periods of walking, standing and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Some work includes early mornings, weekends & public holidays. **

• The role will involve van driving.

• The role holder must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a larger events team.

Accountabilities

• Full Event Management Planning & Delivery of a portfolio of multiple events.

• On site event management with oversight of the whole event including staff, suppliers, live day, build, de-rig and H&S.

• Building strong relationships with clients, venues and stakeholders, working closely with them to develop a close-knit partnership.

• Work closely with the Head of Events to ensure the events align within our pillar of “Exceptional Events”.

• Working alongside Partnerships Manager to ensure client requests are met to align with our pillar of “Happy Clients”.

• Delivering seamless Health & Safety documentation.

• Creating and implementing operational plans.

• Setting, managing and reporting on multiple event budgets.

• Collaborating with and supporting other team members.

• Role may include line management of one Event Coordinator.

• Contributing towards improving our social and environmental impact, to continually improve on our performance as a Certified B Corp.

• Ensuring our suppliers, staff, clients and volunteers are inspired and motivated to join us in our efforts.

• Contributing to Company creative ideation and innovation sessions.

• The ideal candidate will be genuinely excited by the opportunity of having an impact on exciting outdoor challenge events with a positive purpose and will be motivated by working in a small and expanding business. 


Skills

Essential

• Two to Four years’ experience in Event Management or similar role.

• Good knowledge of H&S regulations in outdoor events.

• Great at building relationships within the team and with key partners.

• An interest and skill in creating and innovating, keeping on top of Industry trends through research, learning and networking.

• Excellent planning & organisation skills, including project planning, time management and prioritising tasks.

• An ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness in all tasks to deliver a high quality of work.

• Good interpersonal skills with a wide variety of audiences.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure. 

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Great written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to problem solve and react dynamically.

• Full UK Driver’s Licence.

• Able to go the extra mile and be willing to get stuck into all tasks.

• A knowledge or experience of charity fundraising events.

• Passionate about making a positive social and environmental impact.

• Willing to drive a variety of vehicles including Company vans, ATV and 4x4 vehicles.

• Trained in Outdoor First Aid 16 hour.

• Trained in Safeguarding Procedures.

Remuneration & How to Apply

Role Location: London / Hybrid. One day bi-weekly to be spent at our London office.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

Type of Role: Full Time, for a period of 13 months.
