About the Job


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Trade Mark Attorney (4 PQE+) to join a respected intellectual property practice based in London.


4 PQE+ Trade Mark Attorney - London - Salary up to £85k


The Role


This role offers exposure to a broad mix of trade mark and brand protection work, supporting clients across sectors including UHNWI's, entertainment, technology and creative industries. You’ll be joining a team that delivers both prosecution and contentious services, handling everything from filing and portfolio management through to oppositions, enforcement and strategic brand protection.


You’ll be entrusted with meaningful client work from the outset and will collaborate closely within a supportive team that values technical excellence and commercially grounded advice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to further their expertise in trade mark law while playing a key role in a well-established practice.

The Team


You will join a specialist IP team with a long heritage in patent, trade mark and design services. The team acts for a range of clients from global brands and large corporates to innovative SMEs and start-ups, delivering practical, responsive advice tailored to business needs.


The trade mark practice advises on:


  • Filing and prosecuting trade mark applications in the UK, EU and internationally
  • Strategic portfolio management and brand clearance
  • Oppositions, invalidity and enforcement actions
  • Licensing and transactional aspects of trade marks
  • Domain name and related brand protection issues


Key Responsibilities


  • Advising on trade mark filing, prosecution and portfolio management
  • Handling trade mark oppositions, cancellations and enforcement proceedings
  • Providing strategic trade mark advice aligned with clients’ commercial objectives
  • Drafting and reviewing trade mark and brand-related documentation
  • Collaborating on cross-border trade mark strategy and international filings
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and supporting business development activity


The Candidate


You’ll be a Trade Mark Attorney or equivalent qualified professional with at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience, gained in a recognised trade mark or intellectual property practice.


You will bring:


  • Strong technical experience in trade mark prosecution and related work
  • Exposure to oppositions, cancellations or enforcement proceedings
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • A commercial and client-focused mindset
  • Confidence handling your own matters with autonomy
  • A collaborative approach within a team environment
