18 Month Maternity Cover | High‑Profile, Relationship‑Led Role
A leading global alternative investment firm is seeking a seasoned Human Capital Manager to take on a broad, high‑exposure position within their London office. This is a rare opportunity to partner closely with senior leadership in a fast‑paced, intellectually rigorous, and high‑performance environment.
Part of a small, trusted Human Capital team, this role is the primary HR contact for approximately 400 employees in London, while also supporting a smaller international location. The position reports directly into a long‑tenured Partner who oversees the global people function, and works closely with the COO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted adviser to employees at all levels - from interns to Partners
- Manage complex employee relations matters with judgement and discretion
- Lead and support compensation conversations with senior stakeholders, including PMs
- Own contract approvals, governance processes, and wider people operations
- Partner with international HC colleagues across Asia and the US
- Navigate fast‑moving, sensitive, and confidential matters with confidence
Candidate Profile:
- 10+ years of experience in HR, ideally in a high‑performance, regulated, investment environment
- Deep and confident understanding of UK employment law, HR policy, and compliance
- Experience within investment management is essential, ideally with funds exposure to ensure strong business understanding
- Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to influence at senior levels
- Comfortable managing sensitive topics, diverse personalities, and significant autonomy

Practical Details:
- London‑based role; initially five days a week in the office, with room for flexibility expected over time
- Core hours 8am-5:30pm
- Interview processes will move quickly; onboarding and background checks typically take ~1 month
- Target start date: Mid‑April, enabling a full three‑month handover
- Contract term expected to be closer to 18 months
