Senior Data Engineer

Job description

• Central London location – 3-5 days on site p/week
• Up to £80k DoE plus bonuses
• Active MoD DV clearance required
• Experience required in Python, SQL, and ideally Palantir

Overview

Our client is a secure-sector SME consultancy based in Central London who are looking to bring an experienced Security Cleared Data Engineer into their growing technical team. You will be working on sensitive, mission-critical programmes, designing and delivering robust data solutions in a highly regulated environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer who enjoys working in small, high-impact teams, close customer-facing consultancy, and wants exposure to modern data platforms and tooling.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven commercial experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong development skills in Python
• Advanced SQL skills with experience working on complex datasets
• Experience with core data engineering tools and technologies (e.g. ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, orchestration tools)
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data quality, and performance optimisation

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Palantir (Foundry, Gotham)
• Willingness and aptitude to learn Palantir technologies on the job
• Background working in defence, government, or other highly regulated environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms and modern data architectures
