Recruitment Assistant

Liberty. is looking for a Recruitment Assistant

Job description

Introduction:

Founded in 1875, our long history has been built on innovation, craftsmanship and above all, incredible talent. Born from the adventurous spirit of our founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty, we remain true to our heritage. From our fulfilment centres to our flagship store, passion, vision and dynamism are part of our DNA – and that extends to our team.

Job Purpose:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR team as a Recruitment Assistant. As our Recruitment Assistant, you are the engine room of our retail hiring. You will provide essential support to the Talent Manager in executing high-volume recruitment for our Sales Associate population. Your goal is to ensure that Liberty is always fully storied with world-class talent, providing a seamless, "luxury-standard" experience for every candidate from application to offer.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Management & Administration

  • The Candidate Journey: Manage the administrative lifecycle of vacancies, from posting engaging adverts to sending offer letters and initiating onboarding.
  • System Ownership: Act as the super-user for our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring all candidate data is accurate, GDPR compliant, and status-current.
  • Coordination: Manage complex interview scheduling and logistics for Retail Managers, ensuring a smooth experience for both the interviewer and the candidate.
  • Compliance: Conduct initial Right to Work checks and ensure all pre-employment documentation is gathered promptly to minimise delays in start dates.

Sourcing & Selection

  • Active Sourcing: Use LinkedIn, job boards, and social media to proactively find "Liberty-standard" talent rather than just waiting for applications.
  • Screening: Conduct initial CV filtering and high-volume telephone screenings to ensure only the highest calibre of candidates reach our hiring managers.
  • Assessment Support: Provide hands-on coordination for Retail Assessment Centres, ensuring the Liberty brand is represented professionally throughout the day.

Brand & Partnership

  • Stakeholder Support: Act as the first point of contact for Store Managers regarding their immediate hiring needs and interview schedules.
  • Candidate Advocacy: Ensure every applicant receives a timely, polite response, protecting Liberty’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Support the wider HR team with intern intakes, graduate schemes, and entry-level Head Office vacancies as required.

What You'll Bring:

  • The Liberty Lens: A deep appreciation for Liberty’s heritage and a "luxury-first" mindset in all interactions.
  • Fast-Paced Fluency: Previous experience in a high-volume administrative or recruitment role (Agency or In-house) where speed and accuracy were non-negotiable.
  • Organisational Mastery: The ability to manage 20+ live vacancies simultaneously without losing track of candidate communication.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using ATS platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel specifically) to track recruitment metrics like time-to-hire.
  • Interpersonal Confidence: A natural communicator who can hold their own when speaking with senior stakeholders or nervous candidates alike.
