Equities Consulting Manager (EMEA)

We are working exclusively on behalf of a Tier 1 multi-manager platform, a household name in the space, managing tens of billions in AUM. They wish to fill a key seat on their EMEA Equities Consulting central desk. Market-leading comp and benefits are on offer.


This team hires from across hedge funds, allocators, prime brokerage, bank sales, and other HF-adjacent teams within institutional finance.


Summary


The primary goals of the EMEA Equities Consulting manager are to:


  1. Engage with the platform’s Equity L/S teams across the EMEA region to advise on team / process / risk management and to ensure each team and individuals’ needs are being met vis-à-vis the firm’s resource offering
  2. Utilize in-depth knowledge of the platform’s L/S teams to work with the Head of Equities Consulting and Sr. Mgmt. On matters such as capital allocation, talent acquisition/retention and risk oversight
  3. Identify opportunities to improve the platform and partner with the firm’s business stakeholders to implement change and manage resources.


Key responsibilities


  • Become the primary point of contact for the platform’s Equity L/S Portfolio Managers and advise/consult on performance, portfolio construction, risk management, capital, team management & development, tools and resources, etc.
  • Engage with the firm’s investment professionals (PMs and Analysts) on professional development, firm connectivity and the platform’s resource offering.
  • Closely monitor market/performance trends and competitive activity to keep investment teams informed of relevant findings and developments.
  • Become a ‘resident expert’ of the platform’s L/S teams & investment professionals to keep Sr. Mgmt. Apprised of team developments, performance trajectory, risk profile, etc. And advise on business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the platform/offering by analyzing day-to-day operations and collecting feedback from investment professionals & business partners.
  • Drive strategic initiatives forward and address ad-hoc issues by partnering with the firm’s various business groups (e.g. Risk, Corporate Access, Technology, Portfolio Research, Execution, Compliance, HR).
  • Assist in the on-boarding of new teams/investment professionals to acclimate new joiners to the platform and help them prepare for a successful launch.


About you


  • Must have elite hedge fund / HF-adjacent experience (e.g. Tier 1 hedge funds and allocators, best-in-class PB / Gen Sales teams at banks).
  • As well as candidates currently working in central advisory roles, we also welcome candidates with some direct background in Equity L/S investing - e.g. This role could suit an experienced pod Analyst who wants a shift in culture.
  • Strong, confident communicator (written and verbal) who is comfortable handling a range of different internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent academic qualifications.
