Job Title: HSEQ Coordinator

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated HSEQ Manager to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career professional looking to develop and build a long-term career in Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.


Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering & Manufacturing, you will lead and manage the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) systems and activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and driving continuous improvement across the business.

This is a hands-on role offering genuine scope for professional growth, increased responsibility, and career progression.


Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Keep up to date with all relevant HSE legislation and ensure company compliance.
  • Advise management and employees on legislative changes and required improvements to working practices.
  • Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments, ensuring periodic formal reviews are completed.
  • Manage statutory testing requirements and ensure actions are implemented where required.
  • Investigate and record accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions and producing KPI reports.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions to employees.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaise with insurance providers regarding civil claims.
  • Work with relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies.


Quality Management

  • Maintain company approval to ISO9001 standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and report on preventative and corrective actions.
  • Monitor customer feedback and cost of poor quality.
  • Support and lead quality improvement projects.
  • Set and monitor annual budgetary targets for relevant departments.


General Responsibilities

  • Attend management meetings and provide reports on HSEQ performance.
  • Lead training initiatives for management and staff on HSEQ matters.
  • Support the professional and smooth running of the business at all times.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.



About You

This role would suit a graduate or early-career professional who is looking to grow and develop into a senior HSEQ position. You may have a degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
