Job description
We are currently hiring for a Lead Scientist to join a growing Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) team. This is a hands-on leadership role, providing technical guidance, supporting commercial manufacturing operations, and driving process improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management, while mentoring junior MSAT team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and SME guidance on commercial manufacturing processes.
- Manage complex process changes and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Oversee aseptic process simulations, in-process controls, and operator qualification strategies.
- Analyse operational and technical data to identify solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development of MSAT team members.
- Serve as a key point of contact for client and internal process improvement initiatives.
- Support evaluation and adoption of new manufacturing technologies.
Requirements
- Life Sciences degree (or related) with leadership experience in GMP manufacturing, preferably sterile manufacturing.
- Experience with cGMP systems and FDA/EU regulations in commercial cell or gene therapy manufacturing.
- Knowledge of stem cells, cellular therapies, or cell banking.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Calm, flexible, resilient, and able to work effectively across multiple teams.
