Job Title: Mid-Level Pre-Construction/Pre-Contracts

Sector: Office Design & Build

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 DOE

Location: London | Office-based

Job Overview:

They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid level Pre-Construction/Pre-Contracts person to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with the estimating and procurement teams. The role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and career growth within the company.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Take-offs for Subcontractor Tender Packs:

Measure and quantify construction materials from project plans and specifications.

Prepare accurate take-offs to support the creation of subcontractor tender packs.

2. Creating Bill of Quantities:

Develop detailed and comprehensive bills of quantities based on project requirements.

Ensure accuracy and completeness in the bill of quantities for tender submissions.

3. Liaising with Supply Chain:

Collaborate with the supply chain to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and secure competitive pricing.

Assist in the analysis of tenders and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.

4. Deadline Management:

Work closely with the relevant team to ensure timely completion of tender submissions.

Assist in managing and organizing documentation to meet submission deadlines

5. Cost Proposal Development:

Collaborate with senior team members to put together cost proposals for clients.

Taking the lead on smaller projects.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualification in the relevant subjects: Quantity Surveyor, Estimating or Pre-Con or similar.
  • Experience in the Workplace Design and Build sector.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficient in using relevant software for take-offs and bill of quantities (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and under tight deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills in the construction industry.
