Job description
- As a EC&I Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future operations for a respected Spirits producer based in Scotland. This role is about delivering medium-large sized capital projects which enhance site capabilities, improve efficiency, and ensure our facilities remain best-in-class.
- You’ll work in a multi-disciplinary environment, managing projects from initial concept and business case through to delivery, handover, and post-project review. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and making a visible difference to both people and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-disciplinary capital and improvement projects across distilling sites- from concept and business case, supplier sourcing, tendering through to successful delivery and handover.
- Support feasibility studies, develop project designs, and manage contractors during installation and commissioning.
- Develop and apply engineering expertise to resolve plant issues, enhance capacity and productivity, and support sustainability and environmental goals.
- Plan and justify future investments, translating development needs into Site Master Plans, 5-year strategies, and robust CAPEX proposals backed by sound financial analysis.
- Work closely with site operations, maintenance, and HSE as well as report into senior project leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business requirements.
- Implement structured processes and reporting, driving governance, capital performance tracking, and continuous improvement in project delivery standards.
Person requirements:
This is a technical engineering role in a highly regulated environment, requiring a strong combination of technical, contract management and project governance expertise.
- Experienced Project Engineering professional with a track record of delivering complex capital projects
- Engineering background, or strong exposure to working in an EC&I context.
- Ideally coming from a regulated industry such as the drinks, food manufacturing, dairy water, refinery, chemical or pharma sectors
- Strong grounding in project management, HSE, and stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on, detail-focused, and keen to grow into larger, more complex project responsibilities.
