Corporate & Commercial Associate

JMC Legal Recruitment is looking for a Corporate & Commercial Associate

Job description

Corporate & Commercial Solicitor (2-4 PQE) | West End firm | City Clients

Develop your career within a specialist firm handling high-value corporate mandates for a City-calibre client base.

This role is designed for a solicitor who has gained solid foundational experience in corporate and commercial law and is now seeking a platform that offers greater involvement in complex, top-quality work. This position provides an opportunity to work directly with the leading corporate/commercial partner and gain exposure to complex, high value work. This will fast track your development, in a commercial-minded, profitable firm.

The Firm

Based in London’s West End, this is a multi service firm where the work is driven by their deep roots in London’s commercial real estate and finance markets. Since its inception, the firm has established a reputation for delivering concise, partner-led advice on property development, investment vehicles, and complex debt finance.

The firm is defined by a direct, efficient approach to legal service, avoiding unnecessary complexity in favour of clear communication. The work involves advising a sophisticated client base of developers and investors on intricate equity structures and joint venture arrangements. While the mandates are high-calibre and technically rigorous, the firm maintains a balanced culture that provides an alternative to the traditional City firm model.

This firm offers the best of both worlds – West End culture, City clients.

The Role

You will work closely with the leading Partner on a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on Mergers & Acquisitions, including the sale and purchase of corporate entities and high-value asset portfolios
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, and joint venture documentation
  • Managing the corporate lifecycle of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for major property developments and investment projects
  • Providing technical advice on corporate governance and shareholder relations within the real estate and finance sectors
  • Coordinating with the firm’s finance and property specialists to ensure the seamless delivery of multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental deals

The Candidate

  • A qualified Solicitor with 2-4 years PQE in Corporate and Commercial law
  • Strong technical drafting skills with a focus on clarity and commercial application
  • The ability to take ownership of specific workstreams within a transaction while maintaining close contact with the lead Partners

What’s On Offer

  • This role provides direct mentorship from experienced Partners, offering a level of deal exposure and responsibility that is often restricted at larger firms
  • The firm offers a transparent career path where individual performance is the primary driver for professional progression
  • A market competitive salary, strong bonus structure and excellent benefits package
  • The firm operates a modern hybrid working model that values output and technical results over rigid office hours
  • Dedicated support is provided for professional development
