Job description
If you've made it to Manager or Senior Manager at a top-tier firm and you're starting to wonder whether the next step up is actually worth it, this might be worth a read.
We're partnering with a specialist energy strategy advisory based in London that operates globally, and they're building out their manager-level team. The work sits at the intersection of strategy, commercial advisory, and the energy transition, the kind of mandates that are hard to find at scale inside a larger firm.
The work itself:
- Strategy and M&A for energy companies mid-transition, portfolio decisions, new market entry, asset optimisation
- Commercial due diligence on infrastructure and energy assets at significant scale
- Net-zero and decarbonisation strategy for industrial clients with real complexity
- Competitive positioning and market entry across power, renewables, and conventional energy
- Growth strategy for businesses building in the transition space
Who they're looking for:
- Manager or Senior Manager from an MBB or a recognised tier-one strategy firm
- Someone who's run client relationships and led workstreams without needing heavy oversight
- Genuine grounding in energy, industrials, or adjacent sectors
- Experience in decarbonisation or renewables is a strong plus
The honest pitch:
At a boutique of this calibre, managers carry real weight. You're closer to the decisions, closer to the clients, and your progression isn't dictated by a pyramid above you. The trade-off for the brand name is influence, pace, and work that feels like it matters.
If you're at the point in your career where that trade-off is starting to make sense, let's talk.
