London | Private Equity & Cross‑Border Transactions

An elite international law firm is seeking a 4–7 PQE Corporate / Transactional Tax Associate to join its high‑performing London team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded lawyer to work on some of the most sophisticated private equity, M&A and financing transactions in the market.

About the Team

You’ll join a tightly integrated tax practice that works at the heart of the firm’s private equity and transactional platform. The team partners closely with leading corporate, finance and funds groups across London, New York and Europe, advising sponsors, portfolio companies and financial institutions on major cross‑border deals, restructurings and financing matters.

The Role

The position offers hands‑on involvement in complex, high‑value transactions, including:

  • Structuring and executing private equity deals, including leveraged buyouts, bolt‑on acquisitions and exits.
  • Providing UK and international tax advice on cross‑border M&A, often in collaboration with US counsel and overseas offices.
  • Advising on the tax aspects of acquisition and leveraged finance transactions, including debt structuring and refinancing.
  • Supporting large‑scale group reorganisations, restructurings and post‑acquisition integrations.
  • Drafting and negotiating tax provisions in acquisition, investment and financing documentation.
  • Taking increasing ownership of workstreams and coordinating with junior team members as you progress.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 4–7 years’ PQE in corporate or transactional tax within a leading US, international or top‑tier UK firm.
  • Strong experience in private equity–backed M&A and financing transactions.
  • A solid grounding in UK corporate tax, with the ability to navigate complex structures in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confidence engaging directly with partners, clients and overseas counsel.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • A proactive, commercially focused approach aligned with a high‑performance culture.

What’s on Offer

  • Exposure to market‑leading private equity and sponsor-side work.
  • A lean team structure offering early responsibility, visibility and genuine client interaction.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues across New York and Europe on high‑impact, cross‑border transactions.
  • Clear expectations and a strong track record of associate progression within an elite transactional environment.
  • Market‑leading remuneration and a performance‑driven culture.
