Planning Associate | Leading International Firm

I’m currently working with an international law firm looking to hire a talented Planning Lawyer at around the 5 PQE level to join their established and highly regarded team.

This role offers exposure to a broad mix of planning work, including advising on complex and multi-use developments, negotiating section 106 agreements (including affordable housing provisions), and supporting on a range of development and infrastructure projects. You’ll also work closely with the wider Real Estate team, providing planning input on transactions, reporting on planning history and contributing to documentation.

The position will involve advising on key planning law principles such as community infrastructure levy, listed buildings and compulsory purchase matters, as well as negotiating development-related agreements covering areas such as highways and sewers. Experience of public inquiries or hearings would be beneficial, and any exposure to infrastructure projects or development consent orders would be an advantage.

They’re looking for a strong academic candidate with excellent drafting skills, around five years’ post-qualification experience, and a genuine interest in high-quality development work. Just as important is the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and take an active role in developing your profile through client engagement and knowledge sharing.
