What you’ll be doing at the Technical Manager (Product Technologist):

• Lead the strategic technical agenda across your specific category, shaping and delivering a commercially focused Own Brand product plan that champions taste, quality, value and innovation.
• Own supplier partnerships end-to-end, driving open, transparent and high-performing relationships that accelerate NPD, speed to market and availability.
• Lead high-care compliance and risk management, ensuring robust HACCP, traceability, microbiological controls and processing validations are embedded across the supply chain
• Partner strategically with suppliers, driving continuous improvement, audit excellence, shelf-life optimisation and speed-to-market innovation in chilled and RTE environments.
• Embed compliance excellence, ensuring all products meet Australian regulatory standards, food safety requirements and internal codes — protecting brand integrity and consumer trust.
• Drive category growth through data and insight, using trend analysis, benchmarking and performance metrics to unlock opportunity and deliver against business cases.
• Influence cross-functional teams, ensuring technical is fully integrated into commercial planning and long-term category strategy.
• Champion food safety, traceability and processing excellence, bringing deep FMCG, retail and manufacturing expertise to elevate standards across the supply base.
• Lead investigations, audit responses and risk management, confidently navigating complex technical challenges with clarity and pace.
• Be an ambassador for a values-led culture, fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across international and local suppliers.

What you’ll need as the Technical Manager (Product Technologist):

• A proven track record in a technical management position in the fresh produce / agronomy and the added value / high risk product industry is required
• Experience within complex business models and/or retailers is highly advantageous
• Own transport
• Full UK working rights
