Operations and Strategy Associate

Tarka Talent is looking for a Operations and Strategy Associate

Job description

Operations and Strategy Associate

£55,000 – £70,000 + 10% bonus

London City (8 Bishopsgate) | Hybrid – 2/3 days office-based

Our client is a privately owned investment vehicle building a portfolio of high-growth, operationally driven businesses across the UK. With an ambitious buy-and-build strategy, the group partners with strong management teams to professionalise operations, embed technology, and unlock long-term value. One of its flagship investments operates nationally within the life safety systems market and has recently secured significant funding to accelerate acquisitions and expansion.

The Operations and Strategy Associate will join at group level, initially embedded within a newly acquired platform business to support its transformation and integration, before progressing to work across other portfolio acquisitions as the investment strategy unfolds. Following significant acquisition-led growth and a recent £10m strategic investment, the business is entering its next phase of expansion. With national operations, proprietary technology, and ambitious revenue targets, this is a rare opportunity to shape the operational engine of a high-growth platform business from the inside.

Role Highlights

– Lead operating model analysis across people, process, systems and data

– Design and implement a scalable target operating model

– Support full M&A lifecycle including due diligence and integration

– Roll out new CRM and productivity technology across the group

– Turn data into actionable insight to accelerate decision-making

You Will Need

– 3–5 years’ experience in a consultancy (ops, strategy)

– Strong analytical capability with confidence handling imperfect datasets

– Experience delivering technology-enabled change programmes

Why You’ll Love It

– Direct exposure to executive leadership and board-level thinking

– Clear pathway toward Operations Director progression

– No sales targets or chargeability pressures

– 30 days’ holiday rising to 32, plus Vitality healthcare and 5% pension

– £1,000 annual L&D budget to accelerate your development

– Hybrid working with limited travel requirements

This role is ideal if you are currently in a Big 4 or boutique consultancy environment and want to move in-house without losing strategic exposure. You will bridge deal rationale and operational reality—ensuring acquisitions translate into measurable value and long-term performance improvement. Your work will directly influence national safety standards and the way large estates manage risk.
